Increasing contemporary individualism very often refrain the search for collective solutions, which create the need for meetings that generate a space for groups, and all their dynamic interactions. These creative movements tend to resist an order rarely mentioned but strong enough to impose specific modes of existence.
We live at a great speed. Our existence is defined by emergencies, by consumer labels imposed on us by a devastating regime. The role of consumer and consumed has effectively replaced the role of living. Human actions are guided by anxiety, anguish, loneliness, superficiality, attempts at economic and emotional survival, fear of violence whether real or imaginary, lack of solidarity.
Imagine an encounter that takes into consideration this conflict and, more importantly, the possibility of inventing other ways of life. By choosing the theme of time - “Time for Time” - we look forward a space for creators and creativity.
Because the internet is a mechanical and non-critical medium, we went on line to start the process of creating new and unexpected opportunities for encounters. The first part of the Congress is called “Connections” and its goal is to capture these for our 2010 congress.
The second part of the congress enlarges it - "In Action"! This part proposes that Brazilian and other communities and professionals meet on line, choose who they want to work with and organize group interventions in different spaces where the community members are, offering them answers to the demands imposed by contemporary society.
The third part is the congress itself. Professionals in small, medium and large groups will be working to transform themselves from passive consumers or people who have become, uncritically, products to be consumed, in producers. We hope to make each participant a producer and not merely a consumer or product to be consumed.
The fourth part is publishing all the ongoing congress. We want to conserve the good cultural results of the encounter: texts, images and other manifestations from each step.
We know our congress is connected to important contemporary movements, and, therefore it´s our sincere wish to rescue an essential part of JL Moreno´s legacy: more than survive, live creating.
